My first degree(a few moons back) was a Bachelors in Journalism. Writing is in my blood, however somehow life got in the way, busy living and working. A fond childhood memory was keeping my diary and always losing the key for the lock…
A few years ago I decided to start journaling again and it was an amazing idea for stress relief. I am the ultimate list person so needless to say it was a match made on paper heaven.
Nowadays it is much more advanced. You get wonderful journaling books and even apps.

A journaling definition I absolutely adore is “Journaling is the act of keeping a record of your personal thoughts, feelings, in sights, and more. It can be written down, drawn or typed.”
Get those creative juices flowing. Personally I prefer writing and some doodles along the way. Iuse it to write down my plans, my worries, my gratitudes and my prayers. I do journaling at night so my ‘to do’ list is already planned out for the next day. This ritual keeps me relaxed as I am winding down at the end of the day. Keeping your night time routine is so important and knowing everything is planned out for the next day gives calmness and quietsthe mind.
Some benefits that journaling can help with:
It can improve mental health, boosts emotional intelligence and enhances critical thinking. Insprires creativity and boosts memory. Can help with staying focused and achieving goals.
Remember there is no judgement. It is a private space for your hopes, desires, failures, ideas. Charles Ketteringwords rings true for journaling “A problem well stated is half solved”
